More than half a century has passed since the profession of illustration became recognized in Japan. Illustration, which has been nurtured in the lineage of postwar graphic design, continues to be dynamic even today, and has developed with both advanced expression and social circulation.
“Illustration Works” focuses on the work of illustrators and brings together their best work in a variety of media, including posters, bookbinding, packaging, and digital signage. Through the work of Tokyo Illustrators Society members, the exhibition will introduce the fascination of illustration, including the changes in expression and its role in society over the past 30 years.
