Before Tokyo Midtown was built, there were already 40 cherry trees in the area that bloomed beautifully every year. Based on a desire to preserve the memory of the land, in 2013 Tokyo Midtown launched an initiative to preserve the flora. Every year, seedlings taken or grafted from the branches of the existing trees are planted as a gift to the next generation, with hopes to pass on the beautiful landscape and scenery that cherry blossoms bring to the area.
