Kungyokudo was founded in 1594 in front of Nishi-honganji temple in Kyoto as a medicine merchant serving Honganji temple. Since then, as “the oldest incense supplier in Japan,” we have continued to produce fragrances based on the recipe and techniques handed down from generation to generation, while focusing on natural ingredients. We will continue to offer fragrances that bring out the various faces of the ancient capital, and continue to create fragrances that heal the heart and soul.
