Gio Ponti (1891 – 1979), one of the leading architects of 20th-century Italian modernism, designed everything from a spoon to a skyscraper and had an “eye” for the integrated whole of its parts. This exhibition creates a unique spatial environment of the furniture Ponti projected for his home in Milan and reproduction of the ceramic tiles. In addition, a large panel looking back at the master’s work over almost 60 years includes Richard Ginori porcelain products from the 1920s and original drawings to reflect on what lies beyond Ponti’s gaze into our future.
