From the forest to the city: a lifestyle enhanced by wood.

HIDA is an interior store for the furniture manufacturer Hida Sangyo established in 1920. Carrying on the spirit and techniques of Hida craftsmen dating back to the Asuka period, HIDA leverages advanced woodworking skills and knowledge to collaborate with renowned designers and introduce products to the world, promoting the HIDA brand globally. In recent years, we have also focused on initiatives that consider the environmental context behind manufacturing. This includes developing furniture featuring knots as a design element, utilizing domestically abandoned cedar wood, and expanding into aromatherapy and agricultural materials using extracts from branches and leaves. Moving forward, we will continue to deepen our exploration of forest resources, lead their utilization, and deliver the warmth of wood into daily life. We aspire to create a place where new creations are possible and where people gather in pursuit of its charm. Our vision is to establish Hida, our founding place, as the “Holy Land of Woodworking.”
